Epiphany

What is an Epiphany? Webster says it like this:
Main Entry:
Pronunciation:
\i-ˈpi-fə-nē\
Function:
noun
Inflected Form(s):
plural epiph·a·nies
Etymology:
Middle English epiphanie, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin epiphania, from Late Greek, plural, probably alteration of Greek epiphaneia appearance, manifestation, from epiphainein to manifest, from epi- + phainein to show - more at fancy
Date:
14th century
1capitalized : January 6 observed as a church festival in commemoration of the coming of the Magi as the first manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles or in the Eastern Church in commemoration of the baptism of Christ2: an appearance or manifestation especially of a divine being3 a (1): a usually sudden manifestation or perception of the essential nature or meaning of something (2): an intuitive grasp of reality through something (as an event) usually simple and striking (3): an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure b: a revealing scene or moment
I like definition number three... have you ever had one? I have. I took this photo in the mountains and when I look at it I feel changed. The colors entice me to believe in a beautiful world. A world where beauty is everywhere just waiting to be spotted. That is how I felt when I was driving down the mountain road and saw this beautiful gate. I immediately pulled over to capture this gate in my mind forever.
Another epiphany I had was some years ago when I realized that the most important reason we are here in this reality is to form meaningful relationships. I was contemplating the meaning of life... the reason for our breathing and I came up with that. What else could matter as much? Not science, not truth, not religion, not politics... only how well we loved the precious ones in our lives!
Have peace!
