An Island or the World?
I don't know about you but sometimes I feel like an island unto myself. Some days I walk around feeling like the only feeling person in the world. And some days I feel so full and overflowing that I know I am one small piece of one big whole!
Today, I feel like the island though. I have learned from life that the only person you can count on 100% of the time is you! And if you let yourself down then you don't even have THAT! You would need to build trust and confidence in yourself before you could be able to see that in someone else.
Trust is a huge issue with me. (You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment unless you trust enough. ~Frank Crane). I have learned from horrible experiences that you had better trust yourself first, and then attempt to trust others. We need to trust our gut instincts and pay attention to what we are feeling. We need to have a plan to review things in our minds and consciously decide what to do and what is best for us. I like to take long walks and think. There are no forms of entertainment on my walks... no ipod. Just me and my thinking self. You could call it a kind of walking meditation. I get great ideas from this time with me. And I have come to value this walking.
Do you spend time with yourself? Meaningful time... you can't count driving to work in heavy traffic as time with yourself. Not even reading a book. The time must be spent in your mind, heart and soul... with no one and nothing standing in the way. Even if it is only for five minutes ... spend some time with you today. You will be surprised at how refreshing it is!
