Book Review - Eat Pray Love
Let me inspire you to read a great book! Eat, Pray, Love is a wonderful book about one woman's search for the truth. Elizabeth Gilbert finds herself unhappy in her marriage and in her life. She knows that there is more to life then being married, working, having children and she is determined to find out what it is. She writes to herself one heartbreaking night:
"I'm here. I love you. I don't care if you need to stay up crying all night long. I will stay with you. If you need the medication again, go ahead and take it -- I will love you through that, as well. If you don't need medication, I will love you, too. There's nothing you can ever do to lose my love. I will protect you until you die, and after your last breath I will still protect you. I am stronger then Depression and I am braver then Loneliness and nothing will ever exhaust me."
Assignment: Print out the above paragraph and put it somewhere where you will see it everyday. If you feel depressed realize that whatever is depressing you also can be unpressed! There is a space inside of you that is the true you and this space is holy. This space is the real you. This space is unmoved by what happens or doesn't happen in your world! You can find this place if you pause a moment and clear your mind of all thoughts. Then, and only then, can you see and hear the real you.
And if you feel lonely remember this: You are with you and You are enough! Let me say it again... you are enough! You are the strongest ally you will ever have... no one will comfort you, protect you, strengthen you and love you more then you can. Be there for yourself and know that this is enough. That you are ok, here, now! That it may feel like you are alone -- but you are not... not ever alone. You always have you!
Amen (so be it)
