When You Hurt
Let me inspire you when you hurt! Someone said something to me yesterday that really hurt me in my heart. I was on a sailboat out in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay and I stared at the water and heard this in my spirit: YOU HAVE TREMENDOUS POWER WTIHIN IN YOU!
I am not quite sure what it meant, but at the time this is what I thought it meant: When someone does something to hurt you, either intentionally or unintentionally you have a tremendous power within your own mind to control how you feel about it! Let me say it again…. YOU HAVE TREMENDOUS POWER WITHIN YOUR OWN MIND TO CONTROL HOW YOU FEEL!
Most of the time we are hurt because we allow what was said or done to us enter into our souls. We have allowed a poison to enter into our minds and lives. It was never taught to us so let me be the first to tell you this: you control your mind and emotions, however, you often give that right to someone else!
We give the tremendous power within us to others when we accept what they do or say to us into our very souls. When someone is unkind or unloving to you it is within your power to reject that poison! It is sad that no one has shown us how to do this, but today you can learn how to keep all these unhappy feelings out of your heart and mind.
When someone says something that hurts you – immediately recognize that this is poison! Immediately know that you have a choice of what to do with it… you can either let it into your soul, or reject it. When you mentally reject it you can resume the life you were living just before this situation occurred. Instead of getting upset and ruining the now, you can skip over it in your mind. Then it does not enter your heart and it does not enter your soul. You are just as you were before that person said something to you!
Amazing…. This could change so many things… most importantly the level of peace you are living within your heart everyday.
I am not saying to condone abuse here… I am saying that you do not have to let poison enter your heart! If it is something you must deal with… then deal with it… but do not take it personally and do not accept it into your soul.
I am teaching what I am learning… so believe me, it takes practice. But like anything worth having… it takes work. I want a peaceful mind and this will only come when I get control over it.
Namaste!
