Thinking...

Today I inspire you to realize that everyone does not think like you do and thinking that they do can cause you much useless suffering. I fully learned this lesson last year when I had a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in your lungs). I was in the hospital waiting for my husband to run home and also pick up syringes of blood thinner that I was going to be required to give to myself when I was released. A lung specialist was also waiting for him to bring a CAT scan of my previous pulmonary embolism the week before so that he could compare it to the second one I had.

I kept trying to call my husband on his cell phone but he did not answer. Finally, I called the house phone and he did answer. What was he doing???? VACUUMING THE HOUSE!!!!!

I told him that specialists were waiting for him and he said he would leave right away. I sat there frustrated, wondering why in the world he was vacuuming the house. When he got to the hospital I asked him. I was quite annoyed at him for doing something so frivolous at home when I was in the hospital.

He said that he wanted the house to look nice for when I got home!

I was only in the hospital for two days, I could see no need to vacuum the house… but he did and …. He did it for me!

It was that day that I realized that this man does not always think like me! What a revelation!!!!!!!!! My how that explained sooooo many things that happen between us!

So you see, sometimes we get hurt because someone does something. But what we really need to understand is that the way we think of things in our head is not necessarily the way someone else thinks of things in theirs! Many times we are needlessly upset for nothing other then misunderstanding! I learned a big lesson that day. The day my husband stopped the world to vacuum the house for me!

Namaste!
