What is Love?

What is love? I like this quote from the bible. Funny, because the quote actually ends with, "Love never fails", and you can see that in the little pillow under the plate!

A lot of people think that God is love --- but this thought challenges me: Jesus says, " I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end" --- so to me that means that God is all things; not just love.

But then you go into uncharted, uncomfortable territory!!!! And most of us don't want to go there. We need God to be love. We need God to be everything we are not (good, kind, caring, loving, forgiving, sacrificing, all knowing). It makes us feel more secure that there is a thing that watches over us all. But does it/He?

Do we tend to make God into man's image? I think we do because that is our experience now. This is all we know unless we venture out into that uncharted territory and come to realize one thing: God is not man. We are made in His image... but this image does not include anything of this world (reality) and sad to say but that includes all the "good" and "bad" things about being here now.

Confusing? Yes! Understanding? It will come!
