Enlightenment

Here is Tolle's definition of enlightenment: to dwell in the state of presence rather then in time.

What does that mean?

It means, as we have been learning, that to dwell in the past or the future is not dwelling in the present. And when we are not dwelling in the present we are dwelling in time.

When we are fully present there is no time. All time is before or after... here... now... only is!

Saying yes to what is can be hard. Believe me... I know!

Every single day I come into contact with something my mind would reject!

Every single day...

and this steals the continual peace I could be abiding in!

When this happens I try to remember to "create a gap" in my thinking.

Any kind of gap will do... looking around, thinking of something else (that is here... now)

Accepting what is is a life long commitment to change... maybe a commitment of several lifetimes...

But it is one worthy of our time!

Let me say it again.... IT IS WORTHY OF OUR TIME!

For peace lives there and I want it!

Namaste
